Every change keeps the previous version, and with Restore to a date you bring a folder or the whole archive back as it was. Handy after a mistake or a ransomware attack.

Share with a password and expiry date
You can also limit downloads and be notified when the file is opened. The watermark with the viewer’s name is included in every version: you switch it on for each link.

AES-256 encryption
Every file is encrypted on our disks, with separate keys for each organisation. Disks and backups on their own are unreadable.
TLS 1.3 in transit
Between your computer and the archive, data travels encrypted with the latest versions of the protocol.
Two-step verification and passkeys
A code from your phone or a security key. And if you change phone, recovery codes get you back in.
Remote wipe
Computer stolen? Disconnect it from the website and the app deletes the archive files from that computer.
Antivirus on every file
Every file is scanned on upload: an infected file never enters the archive.
Ransomware protection
If many files change all at once, the app pauses uploading and the archive emails you and your administrators. Previous versions stay.
Signed log
Every action is logged, including the provider’s.

Frequently asked questions
Can you read my files?
Files are encrypted on our disks, with a key for each organisation and for each personal account. The service opens them only to show them to you and to the people you authorised, and for the features that run on our servers: antivirus, full-text search and previews. Our staff don’t look at customers’ documents, and every action by the provider is recorded in the signed log.
What if I change my mind?
Cancel whenever you like, with no penalties. Before closing you download all your files; on the Business and public sector plans we help you with the export.
Where are my files stored?
In Armada’s Italian datacentres. Document previews are generated there too.
Who can see my documents?
Only you and the people you authorise. In the Business and Public sector plans each department works in its own private space: non-members can’t see those files, not even in search. Every action, including Armada’s, goes into a signed log.
What happens if ransomware encrypts my computer?
The app notices: when many files change all at once, or get suspicious extensions, it pauses uploading and warns you, so the encrypted files don’t replace the ones in the archive. The archive emails you and your administrators. And if something has already been uploaded, the previous versions stay in the archive: with Restore to a date you get your files back as they were before the attack.
Can I work without an internet connection?
With the desktop app, yes: the files in the folder stay on your computer and sync when the connection is back. In the browser you need a connection.
How do I bring the archive I already have?
In the Personal plan you copy your files into the app’s folder or upload them in the browser. In the Business and Public sector plans we move it for you, with an assisted migration.
How is it different from the cloud services I already use?
The big international cloud services are good tools for many uses. With ArchiviOnline.it the data stays in Italy, with an Italian company; no document goes through external services; every action, the provider’s included, is logged.
Is ArchiviOnline.it a qualified long-term preservation service?
No. It is a document management system: it stores, organises and protects working documents. The preservation required by Italian law (conservazione a norma) requires a qualified preservation provider.
Does this site use cookies?
No. We use no profiling cookies and no tracking tools, which is why we don’t ask for consent.
