What’s new in the app
What changes in each version of the ArchiviOnline app for Windows, macOS and Linux.
The app updates itself: it checks for new versions when it starts and once a day, and only installs updates signed by Armada. On Linux the AppImage updates itself; with the .deb and .rpm packages the app tells you and you install the new version yourself. See App updates.
Version 1.3.1
October 2026
- Organization logo for the dark theme: if your organization also uploads a logo for the dark theme on the website, with the dark theme the app shows that one, directly on the background and without a box.
- Clearer wording: in “Shared with me” and in the Trash, dates read better.
Version 1.3.0
October 2026
- Folder with the app’s icon on a Mac: in Finder the ArchiviOnline folder has the ArchiviOnline icon, so you spot it at once. To have it in Finder’s left column, drag it into Favorites. See ArchiviOnline in File Explorer and Finder.
- Logo made for the dark theme: with the dark theme the ArchiviOnline logo has white lettering; your organization’s logo stays readable on a small light box.
- Fixes: a single storage bar in Settings › Account, clearer labels and long names that wrap; the footer links are now “App guide”, “ArchiviOnline.it” and “HostingPerTe.it”.
Version 1.2.1
October 2026
- About: the About tab shows the ARMADA and HostingPerTe.it logos.
Version 1.2.0
October 2026
- Confirmation before deleting many files: if you delete more than 10 files in a short time, or move them out of the folder, the app asks whether to delete them from the archive too (“Delete everywhere”), bring them back on your computer (“Restore on this computer”) or decide later. Meanwhile everything else keeps syncing. See File protection.
- Folders shared with colleagues: before deleting a folder you shared, the app always asks first, even if it holds only a few files.
- Ransomware protection: if many files change all at once, or get suspicious extensions, the app pauses uploading and warns you. Previous versions stay in the archive.
- Exclusion rules: choose files not to sync, for example
*.bak. A rule never deletes anything. - New panel and Settings: recent activity in the panel, Settings in tabs with dark theme, bandwidth limit, manual proxy and notification choices; on Windows the folder appears in File Explorer’s left column. See The app’s panel and settings.
Version 1.1.0
October 2026
- Folders shared with you: folders your colleagues share with you on the website can now be on your computer too, in the “Shared with me” folder. You choose them in Settings and they arrive read-only: your colleagues’ changes arrive on their own, what you change on your computer is not uploaded and your version stays in “Unsynced local copies”. See Folders shared with you.
- If a folder is no longer shared: it disappears from your computer too and goes to the trash, with a notice; your local copies stay.
This needs an up-to-date Business or Public Sector archive. With other archives the app works as before.
Version 1.0.4
October 2026
- Terms of service: after you accept them, the app notices sooner and resumes on its own.
- Archive documents: the links to Terms, Privacy, Cookies and Acceptable use always lead to the right pages of your archive.
Version 1.0.3
October 2026
- Terms to accept: if the archive asks you to accept updated Terms of service, the app pauses sync and shows the “Open and accept” and “I’ve accepted, retry” buttons. It doesn’t sign you out or delete anything, and it never accepts on your behalf.
- Clearer messages: when the archive explains an error, the app shows that explanation instead of a generic message.
- Terms · Privacy · Cookies · Acceptable use: the links appear under the sign-in button and in About, if your archive has these pages.
Version 1.0.2
October 2026
- Archive being updated: while your archive is being updated, the app shows “The archive is being updated: sync will resume on its own in a few minutes” and resumes by itself, without reporting it as an error.
Version 1.0.1
October 2026
If you have 1.0.0, install this version by hand, once only, from App and downloads: your account, folder and settings are kept. From then on updates arrive on their own.
- Access only from the office network: if your organisation allows access only from certain addresses, outside the office network the app explains why, pauses without signing you out and resumes on its own when you are back in the office.
Version 1.0.0
October 2026 · first public release
If you installed a preview version, download the app from this page and reinstall it once: from now on it updates itself.
- Your organisation’s logo: after you sign in, the app shows your archive’s logo.
- New name and new look: the app is now called ArchiviOnline, with the service’s colours and typeface. If you update from an earlier version, your settings, sign-in and folder are kept.
- Quick panel: one click on the icon shows the status, storage used and latest activity, with buttons to open the folder, open the website and pause.
- Trash in the app: if your archive is up to date, the Trash section lists deleted files and restores them, several at once if you like.
- Incompatible archives recognised: if the archive still needs updating, the app says so with a clear message instead of a generic error.
- About: version, update check, links to the guide and to support, and diagnostics to attach to support requests.
- Settings: notifications, system or manual proxy, saving the log, a link to manage devices on the website.
- Long names: file names up to 255 characters are synced without being shortened.
