Why choose an Italian cloud
Not because the big international cloud services don’t work. Because the documents of a company, a firm or a public body aren’t just any files. These are the most common reasons, with sources.
Where the data is, and who can ask for it
The big international cloud services often belong to US companies. The 2018 CLOUD Act allows US authorities to request data from US providers even when it is stored outside the United States, for example in Europe.
Data transfers to the US currently rely on the Data Privacy Framework. The EU General Court upheld it on 3 September 2025, but the ruling has been appealed to the Court of Justice, which had already struck down the two previous arrangements, Safe Harbor and Privacy Shield.
With ArchiviOnline.it: the provider is an Italian company, documents stay in Italy on our servers and no non-EU provider is involved. Only the copies you ask for leave, for example the mirror copy to your own storage.
Prices that change without asking
In recent years the big international cloud services have raised the prices of their business plans more than once, sometimes bundling AI features even for those who don’t use them. A few dollars more per user per month, in a 20-person company, adds up to hundreds of dollars more a year.
With ArchiviOnline.it: clear pricing for storage and users, no forced bundles, cancel with no penalties.
Key features only on top plans
Antivirus on uploaded files, retention and legal hold, access only from the office network, migration done by the provider: with the big international cloud services these often come only with the most expensive plans or paid add-ons. The details, point by point, are in our comparison.
With ArchiviOnline.it: antivirus on every file, search in scans and a signed log are included; on the Business and public sector plans also Retention and legal hold (not the preservation required by Italian law), network restrictions and assisted migration.
An infrastructure shared with millions of customers
With the big international cloud services your archive lives next to millions of other customers’, on an infrastructure you will never see and have no say in.
With ArchiviOnline.it: the archive lives in Armada’s Italian datacentres, on servers we run ourselves; on the Business and public sector plans each organisation is kept apart from the others and can have a dedicated instance on a virtual machine of its own, available as an add-on, on quotation.
Support that is hard to reach
When something goes wrong you often end up among guides, chatbots and forms. When you work with important documents, talking to a person makes the difference.
With ArchiviOnline.it: HostingPerTe.it staff answer, in Italian, by ticket and phone.
Knowing who did what, the provider included
Activity logs at the big international cloud services vary a lot from plan to plan, and usually don’t tell you what the provider does in your archive.
With ArchiviOnline.it: every action, the provider’s included, goes into a signed log kept for 24 months.
When staying where you are makes sense
If your work is mostly writing documents together in real time, in the same sheet or text, the office suites of the big international cloud services are excellent tools. The same if you mainly need mobile apps: with ArchiviOnline.it, on phones and tablets you use the browser.
ArchiviOnline.it is a document archive: it keeps, finds, shares and protects documents, in Italy, with clear rules. Many customers use both: the suite to write, the archive to keep.
Let’s look at it with your documents.
We show you the archive and, if you decide to switch, we move your files. Free 7-day demo version, on request.
